Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how BreakRoomHQ ("BreakRoomHQ," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our platform at breakroomhq.co (the "Service"). BreakRoomHQ is a content-team analytics and earnings platform: it helps a team track its short-form video posting, view per-creator analytics, and calculate creator earnings across TikTok and Instagram. Access is limited to authorized team members; we do not offer public sign-up.

1. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the Service:

• Account information. The name and email address of each authorized team member, and a securely hashed password used to sign in.
• Content and performance data. Information about the videos your team posts — titles, post dates, and the platform(s) they were posted to — and their performance statistics: views, likes, comments, and shares. This data is either entered manually in the app or retrieved from a connected platform account (see TikTok, below).
• TikTok data (via the TikTok API). If you connect a TikTok account, we retrieve that account's own video list and the associated public statistics (views, likes, comments, shares) and basic video metadata, plus the OAuth access and refresh tokens needed to maintain the connection. See Section 3.
• Operational data. Standard server logs (such as timestamps and error logs) needed to keep the Service running and secure.

We do not collect audience demographics, watch-time, private messages, direct messages, or information about people other than the connected account's own content.

2. How we use your information

• To display posting calendars, per-creator analytics, and team dashboards.
• To calculate creator earnings according to the pay rules your team configures.
• To track posting consistency and team performance over time.
• To authenticate users and keep accounts and data secure.

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it. We do not use TikTok data for any purpose other than providing the analytics and earnings features described above.

3. TikTok data and the TikTok API

BreakRoomHQ can connect to TikTok using TikTok's official OAuth authorization flow. When you choose to connect an account:

• You authorize the connection on TikTok's own consent screen. We only request the scopes needed to read the authorized account's own video list and statistics.
• We retrieve that account's videos and their public statistics (views, likes, comments, shares) and basic metadata, and we store the OAuth access and refresh tokensrequired to keep the connection working.
• Tokens are stored securely on our server and are used only to call the TikTok API on your behalf to refresh the data shown in the app. They are never shared with third parties.
• We use TikTok data solely to display analytics and calculate creator earnings within BreakRoomHQ. We do not sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it to build profiles of other people.

Your use of TikTok through BreakRoomHQ is also subject to TikTok's Privacy Policy and Terms.

4. How your data is stored and secured

Your data is stored in BreakRoomHQ's own database on a server we control. Access requires authentication, and OAuth tokens and passwords are stored using industry-standard protection (passwords are hashed; the Service is served over HTTPS). We restrict access to the data to the team's authorized, authenticated users.

5. Who can access your data

Only authenticated members of your team can access the Service. By design, a team can see each other's posting, analytics, and earnings within their own workspace — this transparency is a core feature. We do not share your data with third parties except (a) the platform APIs you connect (e.g., TikTok) as needed to provide the Service, (b) infrastructure providers that host the Service under confidentiality obligations, or (c) where required by law.

6. Disconnecting TikTok and deleting your data

You are in control of your connection and your data:

• Disconnect TikTok. You can disconnect a connected TikTok account from within the app at any time. When you disconnect, we stop retrieving new data from TikTok and delete the stored access and refresh tokens for that account. You can also revoke BreakRoomHQ's access directly from your TikTok account's app-permission settings.
• Delete your data. To request deletion of your account information and stored analytics, email us at privacy@breakroomhq.co. We will delete the requested data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it by law.

7. Data retention

We retain data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When you disconnect a platform or request deletion, we remove the associated data as described above, subject to legal retention requirements.

8. Children

The Service is intended for authorized team members and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or the age required by your local law).

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated to authorized users.
